Members of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force arrested two Bellefontaine women Saturday afternoon related to a drug trafficking investigation.

Laura V. Stayrook, 40, of 868 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 124, was charged with two counts of trafficking crack cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of crack cocaine, a third-degree felony.
Angelique D. Bates, 40, of 868 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 133, was charged with a felony count of complicity to drug trafficking.
Task force detectives observed Ms. Stayrook operating an eastbound vehicle on State Route 47 entering the city limits. Drug trafficking warrants for her arrest had been obtained through the investigation, and a traffic stop was conducted about 2 p.m. in the 600 block of west Sandusky Ave. by a patrol unit of the Bellefontaine Police Department.
While placing Ms. Stayrook under arrest, officers found a significant amount of crack cocaine on her person, along with marijuana and cash. She was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Ms. Bates also was arrested and was lodged in the Logan County Jail without incident.
All drugs, cash and both women’s cell phones were seized. Ms. Stayrook’s vehicle was impounded by detectives.
