Officers of the Russells Point Police Department arrested Katie M. Hale, 31, and Jerry Lee Okie Nelson II, 33, on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug abuse instruments, and possession of drug paraphernalia after responding Saturday about 7 p.m. to their 139 Shady Lane, Russells Point, home.
Officers, along with personnel from Indian Lake EMS, were dispatched to the residence for a reported overdose and found Ms. Hale responsive but confused. She was later transported to Mary Rutan Hospital to be checked.
After receiving consent to search the home, officers found one capsule of a white powdery substance, several syringes, several burnt spoons, a clear glass pipe with burnt brown residue at one end, rolling papers and other drug-related items.
Both Mr. Nelson and Ms. Hale were arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
While attempting to leave the hospital, Ms. Hale was charged with obstructing official business after reportedly ignoring commands by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department to stop.
