MARYSVILLE — Two area men have been indicted by a Union County grand jury.
Eric Gallegos, 31, of 34016 County Road 351, West Mansfield, on a charge of felonious assault and domestic violence.
He allegedly hit his pregnant, live-in girlfriend during a Jan. 11 argument about his alleged drunk driving. The woman had various cuts and bruises all over her body and she allegedly was drug outside and thrown around. She was wearing nightclothes and her three children witnessed the event, investigators reported. The woman called 911 for help and investigators believe Gallegos took the phone from the woman as dispatchers tried repeatedly to call back but got no answer. Before the phone went dead, dispatchers reported hearing wailing and screaming on the line. He faces as many as eight years in prison.
Also indicted was Robert Lee Culp II, 40, of Rushsylvania, who was charged with aggravated possession of drugs after being arrested with oxycodone following an Aug. 16 incident. He faces as many as 17 months in prison.
