After six months trying to work with the property owner who put two demolition derby cars on a prominent lot in the center of town and called it an art display, Zanesfield leaders said Monday it is time to take action.

Zoning Officer Ron Ricketts said he attempted to reach out to Matt Straker, who owns the property along Sandusky Street north of the Sloan Library, in a final effort to get the cars removed prior to the April village council meeting.
With no results, however, he said the village’s options are limited.
“The only thing I know to do is proceed with legal action,” Mr. Ricketts said.
