Zanesfield Petanque Club hosted the Liberty Boules Events last Saturday and Sunday with 14 teams competing in doubles tournament action.
All 14 teams moved into bracket play on Saturday where three teams were left undefeated after three rounds. Ahmed Chafi of ZPC and Sidi Bah of National Capital Club de Petanque won the tournament 13-8 over Goyo Martinez and Nacho Martinez of Newark Petanque Club.
On Sunday, Zanesfield Petanque held a Liberty Boules shooting and pointing contests.
Nine players competed in the shooting contest. After five rounds the top four players moved on for a five-round final. Parker Edwards of Carolina Petanque won, while Ron Walls and and Shannon Hodge of ZPC both finished in the top four.
Next, 12 players competed in the pointing contest. Six players moved onto the second round. Edwards defeated Kirk Edwards of Carolina Petanque to win the event 58-49. Justin Bo Johns of ZPC finished in the top six.
