The Zanesfield Village Council took care of start-of-the-year business and opted to join the Logan-Union-Champaign Regional Planning Commission during its regular meeting this week.
Council members appointed Michael Coder as president of council and set the regular council meetings for 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month unless that Monday is a legal holiday, in which case council meets on the first Tuesday following the first Monday.
Council also retained Matthew Chamberlain as the village solicitor for 2017.
Annual appropriations were passed in the amount of:
• General fund — $31,445;
• Street maintenance and repair — $25,300;
• Sloan fund — $3,500; and
• Capital projects of $103,143.20
• Total — $163,388.20.
The next meeting is 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at the Sloan Library.
