“It’s just time,” he said Wednesday. “Also, that is the end of the fiscal year for the schools and my leaving then will give Jack (Reser) an opportunity to work with the schools for their full fiscal year.”
Yoder spent 12 years as Bellefontaine city auditor and nearly 23 years as county auditor.
He had chosen not to run in 2010 and was set to retire.
However, he returned after Rob Storm resigned and then went on to win the unexpired term in 2012.
“I was asked to come back and decided to fill the need,” Yoder said.
“I had too much time invested here not to see if I could make it better.”
His apparent successor is Reser who won the Republican Party nomination in Tuesday’s primary. There was no opposition then and there is none in the fall election.
