Much of what Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said can be a hard pill to swallow for some women voters, but in the end, it should come down to voting for a candidate’s policies instead of their personality, a supporter of the candidate told local Republicans.

“This is the most critical election I can remember,” Joy Padgett, chairwoman of Ohio Women for Trump, said during the party’s Monday afternoon lunch meeting at American Legion Post 173, 120 Colton Ave. “But it’s not for me; I’m 70 now. It’s for my children and grandchildren. I don’t want to hand over to them what Obama has created.”
Her pre-planned appearance in Bellefontaine came after a weekend in which the GOP presidential candidate took serious lumps from his opponent and within the establishment Republican Party for a decade-old recording of a vulgar exchange about women unearthed just in time for the election.
