A Zanesfield woman was transported by helicopter for burn injuries sustained from a reported cooking fire that occurred about 2:15 p.m. Friday at a residence at 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot H2, Zanesfield.
Firefighters from Tri-Valley Fire Department were dispatched to the residence, which was first reported as a grease fire. Bellefontaine and Perry Township fire and EMS departments also were dispatched to the scene.
The fire reportedly was extinguished by a homeowner, but the woman sustained severe burns to her lower extremities, including legs and feet.
She was transported by a Medflight helicopter to OSU Wexner Medical Center. First responders transported the woman to a helipad at Mad River Mountain in order to be flown to the hospital.
