Kimberly R. Harper, 47, of Urbana, was charged with possession of drugs following a traffic stop Monday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 68 near Township Road 30 about 8:50 a.m. observed her vehicle with an expired registration and initiated the stop in the 100 block of T.R. 30 after Harper turned into the driveway for a residence.
While speaking with Harper, deputies learned that she had an expired driver’s license.
Deputies noted that the defendant also was visibly nervous and shaking. She consented to a search of the vehicle and deputies recovered a glass methamphetamine pipe in the glove box with white powdery residue, along with a white powdery substance in her wallet. She told deputies that the substance was methamphetamine and it later field-tested positive for meth/fentanyl.
Deputies also located suspected marijuana in her purse. She was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
