Nicole L. Mumford, 41, of 270 S. Main St., Lakeview, was charged with two counts of child endangering, along with public intoxication and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs following an incident Friday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a report about 7:55 p.m. from witnesses who saw a woman on the ground at Ms. Mumford’s address and two small children who were helping her. They said the woman appeared to be inebriated.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they spoke with Ms. Mumford, who showed signs of intoxication. She refused to take a breath test.
Her 10-year-old daughter said her mother took them out in a vehicle that day to get food, and that she was scared because her mother was “driving all over the road.”
Ms. Mumford was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail. Logan County Children’s Services was contacted about the incident.
• Catherine D. Minna, 61, of Springfield, was charged with OVI and reckless operation following an incident Sunday evening.
Deputies were dispatched about 7 p.m. to the area of 10859 Township Road 293, Lakeview, on a report of a drunk driver who drove through the front yard. The caller said the driver was passed out behind the wheel.
When deputies arrived, they observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle in the yard. They noted the driver, Ms. Minna, laid back in her seat in an attempt to go back to sleep after they arrived.
The defendant admitted to having too much to drink that evening, and deputies said she staggered as she exited her vehicle. She refused to take field sobriety tests and at the Logan County Jail, she tested a 0.176 blood alcohol concentration.
Neighbor charged with menacing, CPO violation

Gary M. Dunn, 45, of 307 E. Main St., Belle Center, was charged with menacing and violating a civil protection order following an incident in his neighborhood Sunday.
Deputies responded about 5:20 p.m. to 309 E. Main St., to speak with residents Eugene and Deanna Herford. They reported that Mr. Dunn was yelling profanities and threatening them and their guests that day. The couple also have a civil protection order against the defendant.
When deputies arrived, they noted that Mr. Dunn was highly intoxicated. While speaking with him, he reportedly started yelling at his neighbors when they stepped outside.
He was placed under arrest and while walking to the patrol car, he continued yelling at them. En route to the jail, he allegedly made threats against the deputy.
