West Liberty-Salem’s girls track and field team opened the season with a strong showing by placing fourth at the Versailles Lady Tiger Classic on Saturday.
The Tigers finished fourth with 87 points in the black division. Minster won the black division with 202 points, host Versailles was second with 119 points and New Bremen came in third with 104 points.
“It’s very early in the season, but I like what I’m seeing so far,” said WL-Salem girls head coach Ann Vogel. “I’m pleased with the way the team competed and we’re excited for what’s in store for us if we continue to work hard and dedicate ourselves to the process of improving.”
