West Liberty-Salem’s boys golf team grabbed the final team qualifying berth for the Division III district tournament Tuesday by placing fourth in the sectional tourney at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Greenville.
The top four teams and top four individuals not on a qualifying team earned spots in the district tournament, which is next Wednesday at Glenview Golf Course in Cincinnati.
Newton won the tournament with a 346, Springfield Catholic Central took second with 354, Northeastern was third with 373 and the Tigers had 378 for their fourth-place finish.
Max Eggleston led the Tigers with an 89. He was followed by Tyler Gardner with a 90, Patrick Harr with a 98, Kenny Harr with a 101 and Michael Price with a 110.
