Lakers wear down Hillclimbers

Indian Lake’s offense was firing on all cylinders Friday as it put up another lopsided victory in a 43-7 win over host Urbana.
The Lakers keep their perfect record intact at 5-0 overall as the Hillclimbers continue to struggle at 1-4.
Quarterback Alex Jacobs had another standout night offensively for Indian Lake. The senior completed 8-of-20 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball 10 times for 93 rushing yards and two scores.
Indian Lake outgained the Hillclimbers 325-199 in total yards.
Andrew Hulbert finished with 71 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries, Parker Grothaus tallied 79 receiving yards and a score on three grabs and Tyler Reprogle ended the game with 76 receiving yards and a TD on three catches.
Defensively, Nate Kaffenbarger had an interception for the Lakers.
Points pile up in a hurry for Pirates in rout of Gophers
Riverside’s football team gave an electric first-half performance on homecoming night against visiting Ridgemont on Friday, scoring on offense, defense and special teams.
The Pirates jumped out to a 33-0 lead in the first quarter and rode that surge to a 63-6 victory in Northwest Central Conference play.
Riverside improves to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the NWCC standings.
The Gophers dropped their third straight game. They are now 2-3 overall and remain winless in the league at 0-2.
Offensively for the Pirates, Gaven Anderson finished with 143 rushing yards on eight carries and three scores and Hayden Robinson tallied 89 rushing yards on five carries.
CalebStevens led the defense with six tackles and Blake Sacks and Zayne Hakes each had five tackles.
Rams rally for 27-13 victory over Tigers
Greeneview rallied for a 27-13 win over host West Liberty-Salem on Friday in an Ohio Heritage Conference football matchup.
The Rams move to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the OHC, while the Tigers slide to 2-3, 1-1.
Greeneview tallied 308 yards of offense, while holding the Tigers to just 142.
The Rams struck first with an 8-yard touchdown run but the Tigers responded quickly with a kick return followed by intercepted a pass and returned it 26 yards for a score. Greeneview would score again for a 13-13 tie at the half.
The Rams jumped ahead in the third quarter and finished with another touchdown in the fourth while holding the Tigers scoreless in the second half.
Cardinals no match for state-ranked Indians
Mechanicsburg’s state-ranked football team overpowered host Triad for a 49-0 victory Friday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Indians, who are ranked fifth in Division VI, remain unbeaten at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the OHC.
The Cardinals, who were held to just 50 yards of total offense, are still winless at 0-5, 0-2.
Mechanicsburg took control of the game in a hurry during the opening quarter with five trips to the end zone. They added 14 more in the second quarter and the second half was scoreless.
