During a regular meeting this week, Quincy Village Council discussed residents’ concerns about low pressure and the chemicals being used in water.
Officials explained that water pressure has been turned down because of recent water main breaks in the system and will continue that way through the remainder of the winter. As for chemical use, officials said water testing is done on a regular basis and all results fall well within Ohio Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.
Village Administrator Kirk Helmandollar reported the new well has been dug and is producing around 225 gallons per minute. Testing has been completed and results will allow for hookup to the water system and the new well will be on line.
The village is seeking applications for an assistant joint sewer plant operator. The position is for 15 hours per week at $14 per hour. Resumes must be received by 7 p.m. March 7.
