Jared Andrew Ramge, 23, of Kenton, was charged with felony drug possession, along with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was cited for a faulty exhaust related to a traffic stop Monday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 4:55 p.m. in the area Main Street near Sunnyside Avenue in Russells Point observed a minivan that appeared to have a faulty exhaust.
Officers initiated the traffic stop and identified the driver as Ramge. While speaking with him, officers detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Ramge advised officers that he had marijuana inside the vehicle and on his person. Officers recovered a bag of marijuana from his pants pocket. In a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly located a large bag of marijuana and several burnt marijuana cigarettes.
Officers also located orange pills in the rear of the vehicle that field-tested positive for MDMA (ecstasy). Ramge advised officers that he knew about the pills.
He was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.
