Robert Ward and Millard Shaffer took the oaths of office at a recent Quincy village council meeting to fill two of the four vacant council seats available as of Jan. 1.
Both incumbent council members were re-elected to their seats in November. Two seats remain open, and the council has the opportunity to appoint candidates to each position within 30 days of Jan. 1.
Members reported that one resume was received as a result of adverting for a full-time Joint Sewer Plant Class II position.
After discussion and review, the council voted to extend the position to Mike Weber, who currently the part-time operator.
