Wanda M. Rotroff, 105, of Russells Point, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
Wanda was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Miamisburg, a daughter of the late Earl and Ethel Recher Towson. She married Lewis Rotroff on July 26, 1930, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Ann Bame; three grandchildren, Tim Williams, Debbie Bame and Paul Bame; and siblings, Erwood “Bud” Towson, Don Towson, Gwen Wells, Leroy “Jud” Towson, Delores “Doty” MocKosher and Jim Hardin, who died Saturday, May 25, 2019.
Wanda is survived by three children, Peggy Arlene (Bob) Colman of Las Cruces, N.M., Laura Lou (Jack) Williams of Coupeville, Wash., and Melvin Lewis (Deb) Rotroff of Lakeview; 13 grandchildren, Micah Rotroff, Jon Rotroff, Robin Beelman, Andy Williams, Matt Williams, Wanda DeBaun, Cheryl Navarrete, Mike Augustus, Arlene Smith, Darlene VonNiederhausern, Greg Augustus, Jeff Augustus and Ron Augustus; 23 great-grandchildren; 68 great-great grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Martin.
Wanda’s greatest treasure was her family and her 111 grandchildren. She spoke of memories and times gone past, leaving behind lots of stories of her life’s experiences and many fond memories of the stories she could tell for her family.
Wanda attended Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeview and later Galilee Lutheran Church in Russells Point. She was a true inspiration for those who knew her, and a wonderful legacy of a life well lived.
Per Mrs. Rotroff’s wishes, her body was cremated, and private family services will be held at a later date with inurnment at Roundhead Cemetery.
