Area residents are invited to show their support Friday morning, Sept. 15, as charter buses with the Logan County Vets to D.C. leaves Bellefontaine for the second annual trip to Washington, D.C.
A parade for the buses leaves the Logan County Fairgrounds at 8 a.m., flanked by motorcycles and support vehicles, and travels north on Main Street through Bellefontaine to U.S. Route 33.
Organizer Scott Stewart said approximately 50 veterans are participating in the trip this year, including service members from World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Veterans attend the trip free of charge through fundraisers that are conducted throughout the year.
