Danyale Piersoll was shot inside a home in the 600 block of east Southern Avenue, according to a 10:15 p.m. call to Springfield police. It was not his home.
Sources, who asked for anonymity, are reporting the shooter is the son of the victim’s estranged girlfriend and he was set to turn himself in. Both the woman and her son are former Bellefontaine residents.
The victim allegedly threatened to harm the woman and her children before showing up at the residence, sources said.
He was found on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and neck, according to the Springfield News-Sun. He was transported to the Springfield Regional Medical Center where he died.
In 2014, Mr. Piersoll was sentenced in Logan County Common Pleas Court to 10 months in prison for possession of crack cocaine.
