Norro D. Perdue, 46, of 224 Plumvalley St., was charged Saturday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for driving under suspension and no operator’s license.
He was pulled over for no headlights around 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of south Main Street less than an hour after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department had dealt with a domestic complaint between Perdue and Karen Lewis at their residence.
Perdue was observed drinking beer at that time. Lewis also admitted drinking beer. Both were warned they should not drive anywhere.
At the traffic stop, Perdue refused to participate in sobriety tests or take a breathalyzer and he was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Lewis was driven home by a sober friend.
• Randall S. Craig, 34, of 7658 Township Road 29, Zanesfield, was charged Sunday with physical control of a motor vehicle under the state OVI law and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
At 4:45 a.m., he was found asleep behind the wheel of a parked vehicle at Waffle House, 1133 N. Main St. The vehicle’s engine was running and he was belted into the driver’s seat. An open can of beer was found in a cupholder.
His double parked vehicle was towed from the scene and he was taken into custody. He was later released to a sober individual.
Man charged with assault
Jacob L. Houchin, 23, of 501 Gunntown Road, Lot 72, was charged Sunday with two counts of assault.
Officers were called to Route 68 Grill, 1141 S. Main St., around 12:20 a.m. They met with Houchin, witnesses and victims Kalaeb Draper and Rafael Vegas.
Houchin admitted to arguing with Draper after he confronted them about their behavior toward other patrons. Houchin punched Draper and then Vegas.
Both Draper and Vegas were transported by a friend to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of visible facial injuries.
