URBANA — Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with a report of a gun fired Tuesday on the campus of Urbana University.
Officers of the Urbana Police Department have charged Hunter P. Donnan, 18, of Huber Heights, with trafficking in marijuana, and possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies; and Ryon W.A. Lucas, 21, of Trotwood, with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
Officers responded about 2 p.m. Tuesday to the college campus on a report of gunfire in Sycamore Hall. University officials placed the campus on lockdown and a “shelter in place” issue was ordered, and lifted about 20 minutes later.
No one was injured in the incident, according to a law enforcement press release. Bullet fragments were located inside a dorm room.
The altercation reportedly involved “several” individuals, officers report.
Donnan was arrested Wedneday, and has already appeared in Champaign County Municipal Court.
Lucas remains lodged in Tri-County Jail on the first-degree felony.
Additional charges, “may be forthcoming.” Police believe, “this was an isolated incident, (and) that there is no lingering danger on campus because of this incident and that Urbana University is normally a very safe environment for higher education, student activities and community involvement,” Urbana Police Chief Matt Lingrell reports.
