Two people were arrested Wednesday after a 5:25 p.m. domestic assault at 1100 Heritage Court.
John M. Alexander Jr., 48, was charged with two counts of domestic violence while Ana Elizabeth Ramirez-Sutter, 24, was served a Delaware County warrant for failure to appear on a possession of drug abuse instruments charge.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report Ms. Ramirez-Sutter was in a car with Zechariah A. McNamee trying to leave the scene. They were stopped and detained.
All three were visiting at the apartment along with Mr. Alexander’s wife Theresa. A fight broke out when Mr. McNamee wanted to leave and return to the quartet’s home in Columbus. Mr. Alexander allegedly attacked Mr. McNamee and Ms. Ramirez-Sutter.
Mr. Alexander, however, required medical attention and was transported by a Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of a wound to his right eye.
Cell phone return leads to charges
Tyler E. Harshfield, 20, of 228 S. Detroit St., was charged with receiving stolen property while Mason Fox, 17, of 417 Walker St., faces a delinquency obstruction of official business charge.
Lori Kissling of Bellefontaine told police Wednesday her cellular phone was stolen from her car around 1 p.m. at Village Pantry, 200 E. Sandusky Ave.
She was able to contact Mr. Harshfield who claimed he found it along a railroad track in the city. She offered to pay him $100 to get the phone back.
He told her to meet him at the Logan County Knowlton Library, 220 N. Main St., and asked her not to contact the police.
Officers advised her to go with a friend while having contact with police dispatch. Upon arrival, the victim notified police the suspect was present and officers converged on the library.
Mason took off running and was taken into custody in the 100 block of west Brown Avenue.
The other suspect was detained at the library.
Mason was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center. Mr. Harshfield was issued a summons. Another juvenile was not charged and released to his mother at the scene.
