Early miscues and turnovers doomed Triad’s girls basketball team Wednesday as visiting Graham pulled away for a 61-44 non-league victory.
The win improves the Falcons to 3-16 on the season. The Cardinals fall to 3-14.
Triad was tied with Graham 13-13 after the opening quarter, but the Falcons went on a 16-5 run in the second quarter for a 29-18 halftime advantage.
“We started out pretty well at the end of the first period,” said Triad head coach Jeff Merklin. “But we got very sloppy with the basketball and missed a couple shots on well-executed sets, and the game got away from us in the second quarter.”
