A Lima commercial truck driver was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office observed him improperly stopped in the road.
Deputies observed James A. McElroy, 48, at U.S. Route 33 and State Route 708 at 4:12 p.m. Friday and when they stopped to question him, he appeared intoxicated.
He was taken to the Logan County Jail where he took a breath alcohol test that returned a result of .115, or nearly triple the legal limit for individuals with commercial drivers licenses.
He was cited for illegal stopping or parking in a roadway.
Women charged with domestic violence
A heavily intoxicated mother and daughter pair were each charged with domestic violence after an argument that started at a bar escalated to a physical fight after they returned to their Midway home.
Deputies responded at 9:44 p.m. Thursday to 8865 Franklin Ave., Lakeview, where Terry L. Steiner, 52, reported her daughter Tiffany Jo McMann, 34, had broken out a window.
Both women were very drunk and getting accurate information was difficult, deputies report.
It appeared a fight started at the bar when the daughter allegedly backed up into her mother’s car while trying to leave. The mother then took the daughter’s car and returned home. After getting a ride home, the daughter broke out a window to gain entry to the home and the fight continued to escalate.
They were each taken to the Logan County Jail on domestic violence charges.
