Triad’s girls basketball team continued its surprising start to the season Thursday with a commanding 45-21 win over visiting West Jefferson in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The win brings the Cardinals to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the OHC.
Triad led 10-6 after the opening quarter and edged West Jefferson 6-5 in the second quarter. That left the Cardinals with a 16-11 lead at the break.
The second half was dominated by Triad. The Cardinals went on a 19-4 run in the third quarter to pull away for a 35-15 advantage. They outscored West Jeff 10-6 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
