Jason M. Casto Sr., 37, of Urbana, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after 6:50 a.m. traffic check Saturday.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department found the motorist passed out behind the wheel of a car with the engine running on Maple Avenue at Main Street. His foot was on the brake pedal and the transmission was in park.
He was awakened but very disoriented even after several minutes of conversation. Officers report he was unsteady on his feet. Field sobriety tests indicated he was too impaired to drive.
He was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital where a blood sample was collected for testing.
Officers released him to a sober friend.
- Christopher L. Brink, 25, of 401 W. Columbus Ave., was charged Sunday with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
Around 11:05 p.m., he was stopped for a speeding violation in a 25-mph zone. A radar recorded his speed at 35 mph on Ludlow Road near Washington Avenue.
The officer observed a clear plastic bag with marijuana on the front passenger seat during the stop. Pipes for smoking the drug were found in the car.
