Kerry Stone, 42, of Russells Point, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug abuse instruments related to a traffic stop about 5:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department who were on patrol in the area of State Route 235 and State Route 708 observed her vehicle make a stop sign violation.
Upon making contact with the driver, Stone, criminal indicators were observed. When asked by officers, she stated there was nothing illegal in the vehicle and consented to a search.
However, officers located a syringe, spoon, a plastic bag containing heroin and a piece of paper folded up with chunks of heroin during their search of the vehicle.
The defendant stated she was transporting the heroin from Dayton to Russells Point after just purchasing it. She was taken into custody and booked into the Logan County Jail.
