Robert Holbrook, 37, of Lakeview, was charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of a schedule two controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of a traffic stop Friday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department stopped a black Honda for failing to stop for a stop sign at Township Road 94 and U.S. Route 33 about 8:40 p.m. Officers also observed a marked lanes violation.
While speaking to Holbrook, officers noticed he was overly nervous and showed signs of suspicious behavior. Washington Township canine Bruno was called to the scene.
The defendant advised officers that they would locate a digital scale inside the vehicle.
Canine Bruno alerted on the vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search and located the digital scale and a clear plastic container with a large amount of suspected methamphetamine. Officers also found a plastic baggie with a white crystal substance inside that Holbrook stated was also methamphetamine.
He advised officers he had the methamphetamine in his possession for a friend and that it did not belong to him.
The defendant was arrested and transported to Logan County Jail. He also was cited for a marked lanes violation.
