Danny Thomas Waddle, 61, of Huntsville, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at his home surrounded by his daughters and his love, Lisa, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Tom was born in Kenton to Ron and Lorrene Shepherd Waddle on June 9, 1955. He graduated from Upper Scioto Valley High School in 1973 and retired from Nash Finch after 30 years. Tom was a member of the Teamsters Union and a die-hard Browns fan. Tom was known for his ability to make people laugh and have a quick-witted joke for any situation.
He was loved by his many friends, co-workers and softball teammates. Tom was a wonderful grandpa to his seven grandchildren, Kylee, Dylan, Isaac, Devin, Lyrix, J.T., and Ali Sue. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, his father, Ron, and brothers-in-law Tom Jordan and Danny Hollon.
Tom is survived by his loving partner, Lisa Hooker; his mother, Lorrene, who resides in Roundhead; his daughters, Stephanie (Jim) McCoy of Belle Center, Amy (Todd) Book of Russells Point and Sarah (Beau) Wallace of Huntsville; stepson, Josh Smith of Lakeview; and his sisters, Rhonda Hollon and Lorinda (Dave) Sparks of Belle Center.
A luncheon for family and friends is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Prairie View Golf Course in Waynesfield, followed by a celebration of life from 4 to 7 p.m. that day at Brother’s Bar and Grill, 11977 State Route 235, Lakeview. Jennings Farley Funeral Home will be handling arrangements, with a private service to follow at a later date.
