Host West Liberty-Salem dominated the second half to run away for a 54-25 win over Madison Plains in Ohio Heritage Conference girls basketball action Thursday night.
The Tigers boost their record to 10-1 overall and 8-0 in the OHC, while the Eagles fall to 3-11, 2-6.
WL-Salem raced out to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter. The Tigers were two points better (8-6) in the second quarter for a 25-12 halftime lead.
A third-quarter scoring surge saw WL-Salem go on a 19-8 run. That stretched the Tigers’ lead to 44-20. WL-Salem continued to dominate in the fourth quarter.
Selena Weaver fueled the Tigers with 17 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Emily Hollar tallied 12 points, Gabby Williams had 10 points and Grace Estes added nine points.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem held off Madison Plains 22-18. Mandilyn Weaver led the Tigers with 10 points.
WL-Salem travels to Cedarville on Saturday for another OHC contest.
