West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team could not get its offense going Friday as it saw host Southeastern run away with a 62-35 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.
The Trojans move to 3-1 on the season and are 2-0 in the OHC, while the Tigers drop to 2-3, 0-2.
Southeastern jumped on top with a 17-10 run in the first quarter and outscored WL-Salem 15-10 in the second quarter. That gave the Trojans a comfortable 35-20 lead entering halftime.
The third quarter saw much of the same as the Trojans went on a 14-9 run to build a 46-29 cushion.
Southeastern then outscored the Tigers 16-6 in the fourth quarter.
Kannon Stillings led WL-Salem with eight points, Braden Miller had seven points and Neil Markin had six points.
The Tigers won the freshman game 50-45 in overtime. Tyler Jones led the winners with 19 points.
