The West Liberty–Salem High School Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 29 new members Monday evening during a ceremony at the cafetorium. This group included four seniors and 25 juniors. New members pictured are, from the left, first row: Maggie Davis, Elyssa Cheetham, Arianna Chapman, Brittany Neer, Renee Neer, Lena Kauffman, Shae Stoner, Alisa Bolton, Makenna Smith and Lexy Lee; second row: Isabelle Wilson, Gabbi Hudson, Trinity Floyd, Natalie Hacker, Kathryn Hissong, Abbigayle Long, Emma Kauffman, Kayla Cole, Delaney Wade and Tina Douthwaite; and third row: Gavin Schoenleben, Adam LaRoche, Owen Harrison, Andrew Kimball, Christian Davis, Adam Stapleton, Dallas Yoder and Logan Phillips. Not pictured is new member Maddox Havens. Member Bella Kauffman presided as the Master of Ceremony, under the theme of “Growing together.” President Hallie Smith spoke about growing together with the support of others. The four core values of NHS were expressed by member Owen Johnson on Leadership, Vice-President Mandilyn Weaver on Scholarship, Treasurer Megan Adams on Service and member Emily Hollar on Character. Historian Jamie Gluckle called each inductee forward as Secretary Aubrey Williams placed the gold cords on the inductees and member Amanda Domanchowswki handed them their certificate packet. Hallie Smith concluded the induction with the group reciting in the NHS pledge. Final words were given by Principal Greg Johnson. Member Madison Casto assisted in the light/sound booth. After the ceremony, the group was served a dessert potluck by hostesses and member Jocelynn Kennaw, member Gabrielle Williams and Parliamentarian Naomi McGill. (WEST LIBERTY-SALEM PHOTO)
