Three men were charged after a 10:40 p.m. incident Saturday after officers observed two of them fighting in the parking lot of First Lutheran Church, 208 W. Sandusky
Norro D. Perdue, 46, of 224 Plumvalley St., and Bruce A. Mathews, 52, at large, each was charged with assault and public intoxication, while Gary L. Wilcoxon, 49, of 508 Walker St., was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Two officers were in the rear parking lot of the Municipal Building, 135 N. Main St., when they observed the fight. Perdue and Mathews were exchanging blows and Perdue knocked Mathews to the ground before kicking him in the head.
A Bellefontaine squad was called to tend to Mathews. Mathews refused transport to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Wilcoxon was observed getting out of the driver’s seat of a van at the scene. He admitted to drinking and driving the vehicle, however, he refused to participate in sobriety tests.
Officers determined both Perdue and Mathews had been drinking alcohol.
All three were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Mother lodged for child endangerment
Ashley Waddell, 27, 1076 Heritage Court, was charged about 11:30 p.m. Friday with disorderly conduct and endangering children after she reportedly left her one-year-old daughter alone inside her residence so that she could consume alcohol in a neighboring apartment.
Officers were dispatched to the residence on a report of the female moaning and wailing. Upon making contact, Waddell admitted to having left her daughter alone so that she could go drink, but had consumed too much alcohol.
She had fallen and was lying in a pool of her own vomit when police found her. She was inside her apartment, but claimed she only wanted to go home.
Waddell reportedly was yelling and disrespectful to officers en route to the jail.
The daughter was placed in the custody of Logan County Children’s Services and the suspect was lodged in jail.
