Thomas Joseph Montgomery, 72, of Quincy, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Quincy on Oct. 2, 1945, to the late Robert Lee and Leah Francis Anderson Montgomery.
Tom is survived by his five children, David (Cinda) Fleming of West Liberty, Christopher (Kristy) Fleming of Pandora, Thomas (Bea) Montgomery II of Huntsville, Teresa (Michael) Gregg of Sidney and Timothy (Dawn) Montgomery of Camden; 12 grandchildren, Sam, Julia, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Toni, Thomas, Ty, Trent, James, Rose, Ashley and Alexis; six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Bob (Darlene) Montgomery, Leon (Janet) Montgomery, Jane Spicer and Mary Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Keisor; and brothers-in-law, Ron Keisor, Damion Spicer and Miles Andrews.
A manufacturing laborer, Tom had served in the Ohio National Guard and attended the St. Paris United Methodist Church. He was a spunky, cantankerous, ornery old fart who enjoyed picking on everybody. He loved westerns, nature and his cats.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, where Pastor Dave Kepple will officiate a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.
