Teresa Virginia Bond, 69, of Bellefontaine, was ushered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, surrounded by her children and family. She battled cancer for 15 years.
She was born Teresa Virginia Davis on Jan. 29, 1948, in Columbus, to the late Richard P. Davis and Virginia Pursley. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus in 1966.
Teresa started employment in 1987 with Bellmar Parts & Industry, which became Honda Transmission Manufacturing, from where she retired as a production coordinator in 2014. She was known as a loyal and faithful worker even while battling her cancer. She enjoyed gardening, craft fairs and loved to pamper her beagle and longtime companion, Cyrus.
Teresa had seven biological children, but was known as mom to many others. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. In all the endeavors in her life, she was always faithful and was known for her unselfish, sacrificial and generous personality.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Shover.
She is survived by sons, Andrew Ward, Aaron (Adrienne) Ward and Matthew Ward, all of Columbus, Nicholas (Tiffany) Ward of Bellefontaine and Christopher (Jessica) Ward of Los Angeles; daughters, Mary (Jeff) Matthews of Rock Island, Ill., and Sarah (Mike) Hall of Grove City; grandchildren, Trevor (Emily), Tyleigh, Austin, Chloe, Lilyan, Isabel, Adam, Aubrey, AJ, Zachary and Hannah; and brothers, Michael and Philip.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. A funeral mass begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3730 Broadway, Grove City. Interment is in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne.
