Jacob Maag, 18, of 3924 S. County Road 31, DeGraff, was charged with underage consumption and possession of marijuana following an incident early this morning at his home.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to his residence about 3:05 a.m. in reference to an intoxicated teenager.
Deputies arrived and spoke with the teen’s father, Steve Maag. He reported that his son was drunk, belligerent and had destroyed property in the garage and residence.
While at the home, deputies said they could hear Jacob yelling inside the garage. Several cabinets were broken inside the garage and tables knocked over. Inside the residence, a television and a wall were damaged.
Deputies made contact with Jacob and observed fresh cuts, scrapes and blood on his hands. They also noted he appeared to be intoxicated.
Steve told deputies Jacob arrived home intoxicated and began trashing the garage and residence. As Jacob’s parents attempted to calm him down, he tried to leave on a motorcycle.
Jacob was placed under arrest for underage consumption and was transported to the Logan County Jail. Jail staff later located a small amount of marijuana in Jacob’s clothing.
