A Coshocton business owner is putting his artistic skills and his tattoo ink to good use this weekend, when he and his staff set up shop at the Bear Bones Tattoo Gallery, 148 W. Columbus Ave., Bellefontaine, to help his wife’s family whose Huntsville area home was heavily damaged in a fire Aug. 23.
Renegade Tattoo Studio owner John Wayne said all proceeds raised during the event from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the local tattoo shop will benefit his wife Samantha Green’s parents, Greg and Melanie Green, as they rebuild their lives following the fire at their 4555 County Road 130 residence.
Bear Bones Tattoo Gallery’s owner, Douglas Scroggs, is generously donating the space to host the event, Wayne said.
“When I read the story on their fire, I knew I had to help. We’re excited for our communities to come together to help a very deserving family, as 100 percent of the profits raised will be given to Greg and Melanie,” he said this week.
“We’ve been hearing from our clients here in Coshocton who plan to travel to Bellefontaine to lend a hand, and we’d love for many people from the local area to stop by as well.”
The benefit will be a custom tattoo walk-in event, with customers served on a first-come, first-served basis. All tattoos will be reasonably priced, Wayne related. Prices start at $30 for tattoos and $25 for piercings.
Related to the fire last week, Mr. Green and his dog, Diesel, who were home at the time of the blaze, were able to escape without any injuries, as previously reported in the Examiner.
The fire consumed the garage and an addition connecting to the main living area of the 1,575- square-foot home. Fire also spread into the attic and roof of the residence, leading to heat and smoke damage in the living areas.
