Marysville driver Shawn Szep won the 100-lap ARCA Truck Series feature to highlight racing at Shadybowl Speedway on Saturday.
Saturday night’s show was headlined by the ARCA trucks. Brandon Huff set a new track record for the class with a 13.945 lap in time trials to kick off the event.
In the feature, Szep took the lead for good on lap 57 and cruised to the win. Chad Poorman, Jeff Smith, Billy Strehle and Armani Williams rounded out the top five. Williams and Szep picked up heat wins.
The pure stocks were on the race schedule as well. Jay Lakins earned the feature win, with Jeff Binkley second and Jason Purtee in third. Rob Bryant was the fast qualifier.
In compact action, Josh Foltz won his second feature of the year. Aaron Chatfield was second, with Joel Nease third, Nicholas Meade fourth and David Boyle fifth. Foltz won the dash, with Jacob Muncy earning the heat win.
Joe Hines held off Justin Nease to win the spectator drag eliminations.
Racing is back at Shady Bowl on Saturday as the Central Ohio Late Model Alliance Series will headline the night. The modifieds, street stocks, pure stocks, compacts and tuners will also be in action. Racing begins at 7 p.m.
