Casey S. Barney, 50, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash Monday morning on County Road 47.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer near County Road 173 about 8:50 a.m. when he swerved to miss a deer and then traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and then traveled off the left side of the road. His vehicle then struck a guy wire and pole.
Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seat belt.
• Deputies also responded to a hit-skip crash about 2:50 p.m. Monday at the intersection of county roads 32 and 13.
Jazzlynn N. Goings, 19, of Lewistown, was operating a northbound 2014 Chevrolet Cruze on C.R. 32 and stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection. A westbound Volkswagon car operated by an unknown driver failed to stop at the intersection and locked up the vehicle’s tires, striking the passenger side of Goings’ vehicle.
The operator of the Volkswagon then reportedly left the scene, traveling northbound onto C.R. 32.
