Kurtis T. Gibbons, 27, of 11407 Blackhawk Path, Lakeview, was charged with receiving stolen property relating to the reported theft of a pickup in Lakeview that was recovered in Dayton.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft report Sept. 20 from David Hess. He reported his Toyota Tacoma pickup had been stolen from his residence on Hiawatha Path.
Hess said home video surveillance showed his vehicle inside his garage about 9:30 p.m. the previous evening, and then showed the pickup was gone shortly after 10 p.m.
Sept. 20, Gibbons’ parents also contacted the sheriff’s office for a well-being check on their son, who they believed was staying at a family member’s house in Dayton.
Dayton Police Department officers located Gibbons at the residence, and also found the stolen pickup there. He was placed under arrest and was transferred to the Logan County Jail. The defendant also was charged with a parole violation.
The pickup was impounded by Dayton officers to be returned to its owner.
