A representative of Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel’s office attended the Monday evening Rushsylvania Village Council meeting to renew a pitch for the village to join the online records tracking system OhioCheckbook.com.
The village voted in April not to join the website, but Lauren Bowen of the state office renewed the offer during the October meeting.
The state treasurer began in early 2015 pitching the idea to more than 18,000 public agencies statewide and Ohio has won financial transparency awards for two consecutive years.
No action was taken.
Council also discussed street signs in the village.
Damaged signs have been replaced and will continue to be replaced as needed. The yield sign at the intersection of east Mill, Railroad and Rush streets is being ignored and will be replaced with a more reflective version.
Cracks in the walking track are being sealed and a natural gas heater will be installed in the council room to replace a propane heater.
