West Liberty-Salem had two athletes compete at the inaugural OHSAA Middle School State Track Championships over the weekend at Lancaster High School.
Eighth-grader Katelyn Stapleton represented the Tigers by placing third in the 1,600 with a time of 5:09.55 and placed fourth in the 800 (2:21.40).
Fellow eighth-grader Anna McGill finished 15th in the discus with a throw of 77-3.
The top 16 performances from the regular season earned qualifying spots in each event.
