Shady Bowl Speedy outlasted the heavy rains that delayed action for an hour Saturday and treated fans to the Raymond Memorial, a 67-lap modified feature in honor of local race Lee Raymond. DeGraff’s Terry Eaton Jr. also came away with a feature win to highlight the local drivers.
The Raymond Memorial saw a tight battle early on before fast qualifier Greg Stapleton took over on lap 34. He held strong and went on to capture his fifth feature race of the season. Mike Carroll finished second, Chris Parker was third, Brad Yelton came in fourth and Daniel McPherson was fifth. Joe Pequignot was the dash winner with Parker and Stapleton setting the quick time.
The tuner division saw DeGraff’s Terry Eaton Jr. make a clean sweep. Eaton set fast time, won the dash and the feature. The win was his third of the season with one coming in the Vores Series. Matt Jackson, Austin Eaton, Justin Pope and Nicholas Philbeck finished second through fifth in the feature.
