It’s not easy for a furry, three-fingered feline to turn pages, but that didn’t stop Dr. Seuss’s The Cat In the Hat from reading several of the author’s favorite books to local children and their parents.
The Cat made a special appearance at the Knowlton Library in Bellefontaine Saturday, March 12, in celebration of Seuss, who was born on March 2, 1904.
The 20 or so children who showed up that frigid morning enjoyed hearing classics like One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and, of course, The Cat in the Hat. They also had an opportunity to interact with The Cat, played by 10th-grader Izik Cox.

“I worked really hard on that one,” the Cat told the children at one point.
“Yeah,” one girl responded, “you’re a talented cat.”
