Mrs. Smithers has shared her spark of enthusiasm and gift of motivation throughout the community for many years in a variety of roles, DeGraff County Fair committee members said.
“As a Girl Scout leader, teacher and librarian at Riverside Schools and community leader, Susie has been instrumental in teaching life lessons, expanding horizons, and spearheading adventure with those around her.”
“Her work with the SADD chapter at Riverside and the school radio station provided strong connections between the school and the community. She continuously shared and taught leadership and recreation skills with Riverside students and was well known for encouraging others to take on opportunities they had never before experienced or even thought they could accomplish.”
