NEW CARLISLE, Ohio (AP) — A small plane crashed and caught fire at an airport in western Ohio on Tuesday, but two people aboard the aircraft escaped with only minor injuries, authorities said.
The small light sport plane crashed around 2 p.m. near the Andy Barnhart Memorial Airport in New Carlisle. The aircraft then flipped over and caught fire, but the two people inside were soon removed from the plane.
Authorities did not release the names of the injured people, saying only that they were treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries and were later released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
