The Union Station community center hosts a weeklong silent auction culminating in a dinner to raise funds for a new heating unit.
The auction, which features works by local artists and goods donated by local businesses, begins Monday, Sept. 26, and runs through Saturday, Oct. 1, when the center hosts a family style lasagna dinner, complete with breadsticks, salad and dessert.
Entertainment is provided by Megan Welenc, Steve Dietrich, Chris Westhoff, Katie Stephens, Tom Stoner, Amanda Stephens, Jesse Jervis, Go Fish Music and Dance Fuzion Studio.
Tickets for the dinner and the variety show that accompanies the meal is $15 per person or $100 for a table of eight.
Winners of the silent auction items will be announced at the conclusion of the dinner.
Contact Union Station to reserve a seat, (937) 210-9220, or stop by the 613 Hamilton St. center to view the items and place bids in advance.
The community center lost use of its boiler near the end of last winter and hopes to install a new unit prior to this year’s heating season. Organizers are more than half way to the $52,000 needed to buy a new unit.
Spicer Memorial Scholarship Fund dinner is Oct. 8
