The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through the Ohio Department of Public Safety and Ohio Traffic Safety Office has awarded the Logan County Sheriff’s Office a Traffic Safety Grant in the amount of $41,156.
The grant will be used for extra enforcement to reduce alcohol-related and fatal crashes in the county. Extra enforcement will focus on speed, seat belt usage, distracted driving, alcohol- and drug-impaired driving.
So far this year, there have been three fatal crashes in Logan County. This funding will help deputies concentrate on high crash areas, LCSO officials said.
