The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is offering the same active shooter scenario being taught in school systems to local businesses and churches.
The A.L.I.C.E. training, which stands for Alert — Lockdown — Inform — Counter — Evacuate, is intended to help businesses and organizations make safe decisions and survive active shooter situations.
The three-hour training sessions are available to any business, church or worship center, but are limited to five participants per organization.
The training will be classroom segments only and will not include the practical exercises, but participants will have an opportunity to have questions and individual concerns answered by trained professionals.
The training sessions are at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, 2280 State Route 540.
The sessions for churches and worship centers are from 1 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, while the course for businesses are 1 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27.
To register, churches should send their information, including name of the church, primary contact person with email address and phone number, names of up to five attendees and preferred session time to [email protected] businesses should provide the same information to [email protected].
